Students participate in National Service Week
CKTC students and staff recently spent the day working in the flower beds on campus for National Service Week. This student service activity started as a CareerTech Student Organization activity for the SkillsUSA organization but quickly turned into an all CTSO activity.
As part of their annual program of work, SkillsUSA asks all chapters to conduct and promote a community-service project during the National Week of Service in May. This helps commemorate the founding of SkillsUSA (May 8, 1965).
“As we planned this year’s event, we realized it was a great opportunity for all students to participate and to learn the value of volunteerism,” said Student Services Director Staci Repp.”So we invited students from all of our CTSO groups to volunteer their services.”
