INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT - WELDING

Job Position:  Caddo Kiowa Technology Center is accepting applications for Instructional Assistant -
Welding.

Qualifications:  High School Diploma or equivalent – required, Associates Degree - preferred.  AWS or Oklahoma Department of Labor Welding Certification – preferred; minimum of two years work experience in the welding field; WorkKeys Credentials preferred.

Additional Qualifications: Computer skills, organizational skills, customer services skills and effective communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills for building a highly effective learning environment. Experience working with secondary and/or adult students is preferred. Ability to walk/stand for extended periods of time; ability to lift 50 pounds; ability to operate equipment regularly used in the welding field.

JOB DESCRIPTION
   
Position: INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT - WELDING
Primary Function: To assist instructor in instruction, classroom management, placement, and professional relationships relating to instruction.
Responsible to: Instructional Leader and Welding Instructor
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent – required, Associates Degree - preferred.  AWS or Oklahoma Department of Labor Welding Certification – preferred; minimum of two years work experience in welding field; WorkKeys Credentials preferred.
Skillset: Strong computer skills, organizational skills, customer services skills and effective communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills for building a highly effective learning environment. Experience working with secondary and/or adult students is preferred.
Responsibilities:  
General: Continue professional development education in areas pertinent to the position.

Attend all local staff meetings, conferences, and approved professional development training at the local, district, and state levels.

  Maintain good communications and work cooperatively with all co-workers and administrative staff.
  Perform various other duties assigned by the supervisor within the physical constraints of the position.
   
Essential: Assist instructor with students in classroom, lab activities and technology.
  Assist instructor with designing/modifying curriculum for individual learning.
  Assist instructor with Skills USA student organization.
  Assist instructor with reviewing and updating all curriculum to maintain alignment with approved ODCTE cluster pathway, career majors, course syllabi, pathway matrix, duty task list and industry standards.
  Assist instructor with employment and placement activities and complete follow up for all students.
  Assist instructor with on-the-job training sites with business and industry and work-site learning coordinator.
  Assist instructor with each student’s attendance, classroom progress, employment opportunities, and school policies/procedures.
  Attend workshops and seminars as needed.
  Participate in business education council and maintain close working relationship with business and industry.
  Develop individual growth plan for professional development to set leadership goals for staying on cutting edge of education and technology.

Evaluation: Performance appraisal conducted annually.
