Qualifications: 18 years of age; high school diploma; complete fingerprinted national criminal history background check; Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) – preferred, required to obtain within one year of employment; Child Development Associate Degree – preferred; WorkKeys credential preferred.
Additional Qualifications: Able to actively engage with young children on the floor and playground. Ability to perform essential job functions related to care and well-being of young children. Recognize and act to correct hazards to physical safety – indoors and outdoors. Work with children without recourse to physical punishment, mistreatment, or child abuse. Demonstrate good judgment as evidenced by prudent and responsible behavior that reasonably ensures the health and safety of children in care.

|Primary Function:||Perform duties related to the care and well-being of children birth to 5 years in the child development center.|
|Responsible to:||Early Care and Education Instructor / Assistant Director|

|General:||To interact with the children and encourage involvement in learning activities.|
|Report any equipment service, damage, or repair to the Assistant Director.|
|To attend staff and other required meetings.|
|Shall acquire 20 hours annually of professional training.|
|Shall abide by the policies of the Employee Manual and the Minimum Standards for Licensed Child Care Centers for Oklahoma.|
|Maintain good communications and work cooperatively with all co-workers and administrative staff.|
|Perform various other duties assigned by the supervisor within the physical constraints of the position.|
|Essential:||To offer a program that meets the emotional, physical, intellectual and social needs of both the individual and the group in accordance with the policies and philosophies of the Center.|
|To prepare a warm, safe, orderly, clean and appealing environment in which children can grow and explore and learn.|
|To plan and implement daily lessons.|
|To establish and maintain good communications with parents through daily contact.|
|To observe, record, and report significant individual and group behavior.|
|To use appropriate, consistent and positive discipline.|
|To provide the parents with a written report daily.|
|To keep toys and equipment clean and in good condition.|
|Maintain a clean, neat room, cabinets, and closets at all times.|

12 months / Classified / Annual – non-exempt
|Evaluation:||Performance appraisal conducted annually.|
