Long-term Care Aide
Master the skills needed to care for residents in nursing homes, assisted living and hospitals under the direction of a licensed nurse. This course is an Oklahoma State Health Department approved program that combines hands-on practical education coupled with classroom learning. Upon successful completion, students will be eligible to take the state test for certification as a Long Term Care Aide (included in program cost). This course covers infection and prevention, body mechanics, personal care delivery, fluid measurement, vital signs and basic emergency care. Students complete classroom learning and on-site clinical.
Must be 16 years of age or older. Must pass a background check, and immunizations must be completed before clinicals.
Immunizations Requirements (must submit prior to class):
- 3 shot Hep B Series
- 2 MMR or positive Titer
- 2 Negative TB skin tests with 12 months
