CKTC honors school board leaders
Thousands of elected school board members are honored every January for School Board Recognition Month. Likewise, Caddo Kiowa Technology Center joined other school districts across the state to acknowledge the contributions local school board members make to their communities.
“A sound education is one of the most critical investments a community can make for a viable future,” said Superintendent Tony Hancock. “We’re proud of our district and the partnerships we have with our communities and schools. School Board Recognition Month is a way to say thanks to our elected board members for their commitment to education and our future.”
CKTC’s board members develop policies and make tough decisions on complex educational and social issues that impact several communities. They are responsible for an annual budget of $11 million, 594 students, 110 employees, 13 buildings, 17 full-time programs and business and industry services.
Superintendent Tony Hancock presented the board with certificates of recognition at the January board meeting. CKTC’s Board of Education members are Vice President Lance Shenold, President Dustin Tackett, Member Phil Perryman, Clerk John Clay and Member Tom Haley.
