CKTC recognizes several students at the March awards assembly

Just attend a Gold Star Student Assembly, and one fact becomes apparent. CKTC students don’t settle for just letting life pass by them. They have drive and determination. They choose to get up each day and take an active role in the change they want in their lives. And the power of showing up is apparent when CKTC student achievements are announced at the Gold Star awards assembly.

Do the stuff that you’re passionate about, and you’ll do your best work.

“Every time I put together the agenda for the awards assembly, I am always amazed at what our students accomplish,” said Gold Star Assembly Organizer Ronda Weaver. “They constantly surpass my expectations. I hope that someone sitting at home or working in a dead-end job or not sure what they want to do will see what our students are doing and want to be a part of that.”

The Gold Star awards assembly is a time to recognize the trail-blazers. CKTC student achievements may include but are not limited to perfect attendance, contest placements, students of the month, program-specific certifications and WorkKeys.

What is WorkKeys?

The awards assembly recognizes students who have completed their ACT WorkKeys assessments that compare their skills to the skills real jobs require. These scores help employers choose the most qualified candidates for their job openings. These CKTC student achievements are announced during the Gold Star Student Assembly.

What is Student of the Month?

Instructors nominate students who have shown a range of high-quality character traits. A committee then selects an adult student and a high school student for the honor. These CKTC student achievements are announced during the Gold Star awards assembly.

What is National Technical Honor Society?

Those students inducted into NTHS exemplify good, honest and responsible student-citizens who have made a personal commitment to excellence and who agree to uphold the NTHS standards of conduct.

  1. I am extremely proud of our CKTC students and all they accomplish here. Their success here is a predictor of their future success in the workplace, higher education (if they choose) and in life.
