Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent – required, Associates Degree – preferred.  Minimum of two years of experience as an Instructional Assistant, Administrative Assistant or equivalent.  Administrative Assistant Certificate or equivalent certification with emphasis in computer applications and fundamental skills – preferred. WorkKeys Credentials – preferred.

 

Additional Qualifications: Strong computer skills, organizational skills, customer services skills and effective communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills for building a highly effective learning environment. Experience working with secondary and/or adult students is preferred.

JOB DESCRIPTION
   
Position: INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT – WORK PREP
Primary Function: Assist Work Prep Coordinator in orientation, instruction, classroom management, placement, and professional relationships relating to program. Responsible for assisting coordinator with daily activities and performing a range of administrative and office support activities for the department to facilitate the efficient operation of the program.

Skillset: Strong computer skills, organizational skills, customer services skills and effective communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills for building a highly effective learning environment. Experience working with secondary and/or adult students is preferred.
Responsibilities:  
General: Participate in school wide Continuous School Improvement (CSI) initiatives.

Continue professional development education in areas pertinent to the position.

Attend all local staff meetings, conferences, and approved professional development training at the local, district, and state levels.

  Maintain good communications and work cooperatively with all co-workers and administrative staff.
  Perform various other duties assigned by the supervisor within the physical constraints of the position.
   
Essential: Assist staff in the delivery of work prep services to include orientation, transitioning to training and employment.
  Assist coordinator with classroom management, lab activities and technology.
  Assist coordinator with recordkeeping, and timely preparation of accurate educational materials, events, and reports.
  Assist coordinator with reviewing and updating orientation activities to maintain alignment with approved options for training and employment.
  Assist coordinator with employment and placement activities and complete follow up for all students.
  Assist coordinator with student attendance, classroom progress, employment opportunities, and school policies/procedures.
  Attend workshops and seminars as needed.
