Qualifications:  High school diploma or its equivalent; prefer one year work experience in related field.

JOB DESCRIPTION
   
Position: Custodian – Evening

Hours:  1:30 to 10:00 PM

Primary Function: Responsible for performing custodial duties, minor maintenance and other miscellaneous duties in order to ensure that buildings, facilities and grounds are maintained in a healthy, safe and sanitary manner conducive to continuous school improvement.  Lock and secure all buildings and gates nightly.
Responsible to: Facilities and Maintenance Director
Minimum Qualifications:

Responsibilities:  
General:  

Continue professional development education in areas pertinent to the position.

  Attend all local staff meetings, conferences, and approved professional development training at the local, district, and state levels.
  Maintain good communications and work cooperatively with all co-workers and administrative staff.
  Perform various other duties assigned by the supervisor within the physical constraints of the position.

Routinely apply safety and sanitation rules, practices and safeguards applicable to custodial and minor maintenance duties.

Effectively and safely operate equipment.

Report any equipment service, damage, or repair to supervisor and assist with basic repairs as needed.

Effectively utilize computer hardware and software common to job functions.

Vacuum all carpeted areas.

Clean restrooms:

a) Stools – sanitize inside/outside

b) Sweep and mop the floors

c) Clean vanity tops and sinks

d) Empty trash containers and clean outside of container

e) Wash walls and stall dividers

f) Keep feminine hygiene dispenser filled

Sweep and mop tile floors.

Empty trash containers once daily (recycling containers will be emptied by students for student organizations)

Clean countertops.

Sanitize drinking fountains.

Clean outside entry and front sidewalk areas.  This includes but is not limited to sweeping, dusting, mopping the entry way, sweeping the sidewalk and empty trash containers.

Dust windowsills.

Other items as needed will be:  spot cleaning carpets, cleaning windows and mini blinds, Formica on storage cabinets, desks and other wooden areas, and restock cleaning supplies.

Secure buildings and facility and turn out lights at end of shift.

Assist in meeting room set-up for evening meetings as needed.

Evaluation: Performance appraisal conducted annually.
