Position

Adult and Continuing Education Coordinator

 

Primary Function

Coordinate assessment, development, promotion, and delivery of adult education programs based upon community and workforce development needs.

 

Responsible to

Business and Industry Services Director

 

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree, Minimum of two year’s work experience in related field

Responsibilities

 

General

  • Continue professional development education in areas pertinent to the position.
  • Attend all local staff meetings, conferences, and approved professional development training at the local, district, and state levels.
  • Maintain good communications and work cooperatively with all co-workers and administrative staff.
  • Perform various other duties assigned by the supervisor within the physical constraints of the position.

Essential

  • Assess district adult education and workforce development needs using appropriate tools and processes.
  • Coordinate adult education, online short term curriculum, and workforce development programs, including development, implementation, delivery, evaluation, and revision within established guidelines.
  • Promote and advocate for adult education programs that increase program awareness and meet district education needs.
  • Supervise and administer short-term adult education programs and functions adhering to district policies and established program guidelines.
  • Facilitate planning to determine program direction that aligns with customer needs and market demands.
  • Design flyers, newspaper ads, and quarterly short –term class schedule publication for BIS department.
  • Recruit, select, develop and evaluate adjunct adult education instructors to maintain and to increase program quality and effectiveness.
  • Work cooperatively with internal and external customers to offer and deliver quality programs that align with market needs.
  • Research and integrate progressive learning technologies into adult education systems that enhance learning and increase productivity.
  • Work closely with other BIS employees to develop effective offerings for clients.
  • Report BIS course offerings to ODCTE
  • Survey district business leaders and to align short term course offerings with district needs.
  • Ensure short term program compliance with ODCTE BIS guidelines
  • Coordinate short term program reporting utilizing the CareerTech Information Management System (CTIMS).
